Lawrence is the founder, President and Chief Executive Officer of LJH & Associates. He has over 40 years of audit and accounting, tax, business advisory, and forensic accounting experience. Lawrence has also served in various positions including as a member of the board of directors, acting chief executive officer, acting chief financial officer for private sector entities and not-for-profit organizations. He began his career with Coopers & Lybrand (now PWC) in Washington, D.C. Lawrence founded his firm in 1982. Over the years, he developed a nationally recognized forensic accounting and consulting practice, in addition to serving traditional attest, tax and advisory clients. Lawrence has been involved in numerous high-profile cases as a consulting and testifying forensic accounting expert and is considered a subject matter expert in the field of forensic accounting.

Lawrence recently retired as an Assistant Professor and Director of the Forensic Accounting program at Mount St. Mary’s University in Emmitsburg, Maryland, where he taught forensic accounting at the undergraduate and graduate levels. He developed both the undergraduate and graduate forensic accounting programs, and in six years, he was awarded the 2020 Educator of the Year award by the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, and the undergraduate program was rated # 1 in the U.S. by Accountg-degree.org. He is a frequent speaker, lecturer and instructor with various professional and educational organizations and has authored numerous articles on diverse topics in forensic accounting.

Personal Interests
Lawrence is a commercial rated private pilot and has volunteered and completed numerous missions for Angel Flight and for animal rescue organizations. He has been highly active during his career assisting numerous nonprofit organizations as a volunteer, board member, and trusted advisor. He is a member of International Country Club in Fairfax, Virginia and Waynesboro Country Club in Waynesboro, Pennsylvania and is an avid golfer.
